I was walking back home from Kingston and the sun was shining onto the river and I thought this was a perfect picture to take with the water and the trees with the bridge in the background.

Artist Biography

Growing up in London (UK), Leo has always had a creative streak along with an active imagination. With a background in engineering and having studied mathematics/science at school, art was something he regularly came back to and was a constant in his life.

In 2020, Leo decided to focus more on his art with an emphasis on developing his own style. For the next two years, he looked at all different artistic styles and painting mediums going from acrylics to oils to charcoal and colouring pens but it wasn’t until he looked deeper into impressionism that he came upon pointillism and works by Seurat, Signac and Pissaro. He also really enjoyed the waviness of the brushtrokes from Van Gogh.

Since 2022, Leo continues to examine pointillist works however he has developed it into his own style by using dotwork to incorporate elements of waviness into each of his pieces, most notably the sky.

What drew him, and continues to draw him, to pointillism is his fascination of how many small and seemingly insignificant additions, which are individually different, can come together to form a singular beautiful piece of art.

If you are interested in taking a look at his work, you can find him on his website, YouTube, or on Instagram.
