Embedded content from other websites
Articles on Homiens may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites (e.g. YouTube) behaves in the exact same way as if you have visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Cookies
We use cookies to store and track your preferences to provide you with a more personalized member experience. A cookie is a message sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Most Internet sites use cookies. You can set your browser preferences to reject all cookies, but this will prevent you from using most customized services, and you may have to repeatedly enter personal information in order to participate in various services or promotions. Cookies make your experience easier by saving your preferences. We also use cookies that contain no personal information at all. These cookies help us estimate our audience size and determine how many visitors each area of the Homiens website receives. If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. For more information on how and why we use cookies, please see our Cookies Policy.

Homiens uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous data about users, including demographics and interests. We use this information to interpret how our services are being used, and to estimate the size of our audience. This data will never be merged with personally identifiable information. If you do not wish for this information to be collected, please note that Google Analytics provides a range of methods to opt-out. You can find more information about how Google Analytics safeguards your data here. You can also read Google’s Privacy Policy here.

IP address
An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer automatically when you use the Internet. When you visit a particular web page on the Homiens site, our server logs your IP address. We may log IP addresses for the purposes of systems administration, security, or to report information in aggregate form to our retail partners and advertisers (e.g., how many visitors logged in to our website) in a form that is not personally identifiable.

Use and disclosure
Homiens requires you to provide certain information about yourself in order to provide services to you. We will not rent, sell or exchange information about you to third parties except where you consent, or except where you would expect the information to be disclosed, or except where we have indicated we may disclose; or except where we are legally obliged to disclose such information.

Transfer of Data
Homiens will take reasonable steps to ensure that any information you give us about you will remain subject to the protection given by our Privacy Statement or another statute or binding scheme which is substantially similar to this Privacy Statement.

Collection
Homiens collects the personal data that you volunteer by entering the Homiens Art Prize, or through other forms on our site, or by email. This information will only be collected by lawful and fair means. This information is only used for identification purposes and to contact you when necessary.

Anonymity
You can access Homiens and browse our website without disclosing personal information. Homiens will, wherever it is lawful and practicable, give you the option of not identifying yourself to us except where it is necessary to use our website services.

Data quality
Homiens will take reasonable steps to ensure that information we have about you is accurate, complete and up to date when we collect and use it.

Sensitive information
Homiens will not collect information that is considered highly personal or highly sensitive about you. For example, information relating to your racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation or in relation to your health will not be collected by us. We also do not have access to or retain any data related to any payments you make, or any payment methods you choose to use on our site. All payments on our platform are managed securely by PayPal.

Data security
Homiens will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we hold about you is kept secure at all times. Homiens will limit access to your personal information to those who work for our organisation and data processors that need it to carry out the service provided by us except where we inform you otherwise. Our workers and data processors are obliged to respect the confidentiality of clients’ and website visitors’ personal data. Homiens will reinforce with other workers these policies and practices in relation to safeguarding personal information of clients and visitors, preventing its unauthorised access, use or disclosure, and ensuring its proper handling.

Openness
Homiens will be honest and open with you about the type of personal information that is collected about you and the actual use of any such information. By giving out your personal information, or filling in the entry or application form, you have consented to the use of this information in future, for marketing campaigns that Homiens feels you may be interested in. At any time you have the option to opt out from receiving any future marketing material by simply clicking the unsubscribe link in any email sent to you, or by emailing us at info@homiens.com.
