Artist Biography

Currently based on the East Coast of the United States, John’s foray into the creative arts can be traced to the early 2000’s, when his independent graphical work within the skateboarding sub-culture began to emerge within the California East Bay. As a pathway to higher education found him working as a practicing Architect across San Francisco, Boston, and Ecuador, his design work within the built environment explored nuanced spatial arrangements, concept-driven building designs, and logic-based storytelling to help navigate and anchor his creative process in unique graphical narrative formats. Currently operating within the community and real estate development realms, John’s creative inclinations now occur strictly outside of his corporate career.

John’s present work operates primarily within the realm of collage, with multifarious subject-matter from found obscurities cut, pasted, and reconfigured into unique patterns and visual commentaries. A recent series of “perspective shifters” explores a rule-based “variations on a theme” and has produced a series of thirteen highly dynamic visionary pieces, each composed of a myriad of concepts that speak to the viewer in a language unique to their personal interpretations.
