Artist Biography

Eva Samule is a self taught painter who has found her artistic calling later in life after a difficult upbringing. As a child Samule struggled to find her place in the world, unsure of who she wanted to be or what she wanted to do. It wasn’t until she was in her late 20s that she discovered her passion for oil painting.
Born to a low-income family, Samule faced many challenges growing up. Her father being absent. Spending a lot of time at her grandmothers house who was struggling with her own demons.

She was left to fend for herself from a young age. This instability and lack of support made it difficult for Samule to envision a clear path for her future. She drifted through her teenage years and early 20s, working various odd jobs and never quite feeling fulfilled.

It wasn’t until Samule dared to go for her dream and after giving birth to her second child she decided to dive in the art world. For years she admired other painters to choose this path of life she finally did it herself. She had always enjoyed drawing and painting but had never considered pursuing it seriously. However, something about the vibrant colors and rich textures of the oil paints called to her. She found a sense of peace and purpose in the act of painting, and it quickly became a source of joy, self expression and life experiences.

Her compositions often explore themes of resilience, self-discovery, and the search for belonging. Through her work, Samule has found a way to not only express her own story, but to also connect with others.
