Artist Statement

This sculptural piece is a dynamic interplay of tension and balance, where interlocking rings form a suspended dance of motion and structure. The contrast between polished and matte surfaces evokes dualities—light and shadow, rigidity and fluidity, chaos and cohesion. Resting on a limestone base, Le Bal des anneaux suggests the cyclical nature of existence and the delicate harmony that can arise from dissonance. It invites viewers to reflect on structure as a metaphor for relationships, systems, and personal transformation.

Artist Biography

My name is Jean‑Claude Schwarz, a Swiss visual artist whose work bridges materiality, spatial awareness, and poetic presence. Trained as an architect and watchmaker, I apply precision, structure, and tactility in a multidisciplinary practice encompassing painting and sculptural textiles. Working across painting and sculpture, my pieces seek to create contemplative encounters through subtle plays of texture, light, and structure. I am interested in how artworks inhabit a space, inviting viewers into a quiet, reflective experience. Through these works, I aim to create immersive, contemplative installations that challenge formal boundaries without abandoning aesthetic economy. Light, texture, and scale become active agents in shaping the viewer’s experience.
