Artist Statement
The oil painting Sweet Summer was born shortly after I welcomed my first child, marking a dramatic shift in my life. Suddenly, every decision revolved around my baby. In creating Sweet Summer, I found a way to reconnect with my pre-mom self and relive the carefree days my husband and I once enjoyed. This artwork captures that longing for freedom and joy. Yet, it also serves as a reminder that those days have passed—the reality is that the party is over, someone knocked over the beer, and it’s time to embrace the responsibilities that come with motherhood
