In-studio still life work: The artist is presented with a gift and a choice. The photographs create a sequence and exchange of the passing of creative seeds.
Artist Biography
Jonathan Grado is a Brooklyn-born conceptual photographer and mixed-media artist focused on surrealism and storytelling. Jonathan uses grain, memory, and unconventional settings to create his narrative-based work.
Having spent the past 14 years developing the creative aspects of his family’s audio company, Grado Labs, Jonathan has established the seven-decade-old company as an artistic outlet. He modernized the company using photography and design while keeping the three-generation legacy of sound and design intact.
With an appreciation for the finer details, Jonathan is currently working on projects with surreal narratives through mixed-media.
The artist’s studio is based out of Brooklyn, NY, and Austin, TX. Jonathan received his B.A. in Interactive Design from Quinnipiac University.
