Artist Statement

Sur la Plage shows a simple but meaningful moment between two women by the sea. They’re relaxed, confident, and present—sharing a quiet connection in the warmth of the sun. Set against a backdrop of bold Mediterranean colour, the scene blends Pop Art clarity with subtle emotional undertones. There’s a touch of vintage style in their swimwear, sunglasses, and posture—echoing the elegance of old holiday photos or retro film stills. I was inspired by their natural body language and how the light played across their skin and clothes. This painting is part of my ongoing interest in showing women in real, unposed moments—strong, thoughtful, and comfortable in their own space. Through colour, light, and a hint of nostalgia, I try to tell emotional stories and capture the quiet beauty in everyday scenes.

Artist Biography

Kasia Davies is a Polish painter, multidisciplinary artist, and former interior designer whose vibrant figurative works evoke summer warmth, femininity, and emotional presence. Raised in Poland and having spent much of her life in London, she holds a background in Theatre Studies, business management from the London School of Management, and interior design from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts.

Kasia has built a dynamic career spanning painting, set design for advertising, and creative management—extending even into the music industry as manager and producer of notable Polish acts. Her vivid acrylic paintings, often centered around women and water, are distinguished by bold colour palettes, impressionistic light, and a playfully empowering aesthetic.

Frequently featured across Europe in group exhibitions, her work is held in private collections throughout Poland, Italy, France, Belgium, Switzerland, the UK, and the USA. In 2025, she was recognized as a finalist in the prestigious YICCA International Contest and received first prize at the IT’SLIQUID International Contest.
