Artist Statement
Summer 2021 through this window captured the quiet beauty of a Voronezh nature reserve, near the Ukrainian border. It was the last peaceful summer before the Russia-Ukraine war — a fleeting moment of hope before my homeland, Ukraine, came under attack and I had to leave Russia forever.
Artist Biography
I am a Ukrainian-born storyteller who works with both words and images. For around 15 years I have wandered between journalism and photography, capturing places, people, and fragile moments of change. My photographs have appeared in National Geographic, Forbes, GEO and have been highlighted by The New York Times and The Guardian. Member of The Royal Photographic Society, UK and Nominee of 2025 Photographer of the Year Contest, 1836 Award.
With a background in geography and studies at The Rodchenko Art School and FotoDepartament, I approach photography as both exploration and conversation — a way to map the world through light, memory, and human connection.
