Artist Statement
This work reflects the intersection of power, grace, and transformation through myth and feminine identity. The koi fish, a symbol of strength and persistence, surrounds a woman in a moment of inner elevation. Her presence is both regal and fluid—rooted in the duality of surrender and will. Inspired by Eastern symbols and Art Deco aesthetics, the piece invites reflection on what it means to ascend through struggle.
Artist Biography
Nataliia V. Sakir is a Ukrainian visual artist currently based in the United States. With a background in both fine arts and coaching, she merges emotional depth, movement, and symbolism in her paintings. Her work often explores the feminine psyche, resilience, and transformation—through archetypes, myth, and organic forms. Using acrylic, texture paste, and gold leaf, she creates bold, radiant compositions that echo both Art Deco elegance and contemporary storytelling. Her artworks have been exhibited in Ukraine and the U.S., including George Mason University and curated showcases in Kyiv and Zhytomyr. She is a member of the Arlington Artists Alliance and a participant in international art competitions and residencies. In 2025, she began building her global presence through curated submissions, portfolio collections, and narrative-driven visual art.
