Artist Statement
This artwork explores the transformative power of envisioning new possibilities. Through a blend of celestial forms, dynamic colors, and a central female figure, it invites viewers to connect with her journey — a journey that reflects our shared human experience. The painting transcends the individual; it is about us, prompting reflection on how our aspirations and dreams can expand the boundaries of what we believe is achievable.

The series encourages a journey of self-reflection and empowerment, examining how our internal dialogues, perceptions, and beliefs influence not only our personal experiences but also the potential futures we can create.

Nicole’s artwork often intersects with psychology and neuroscience, delving into our potential for transformation and impact. She explores our inherent power to shape our reality, encouraging viewers to reflect on their creative capacities and the influence they have on the world. Her art aims to inspire a vision of a more empathetic, creative, and united future.
Her artwork has been showcased in Vogue, New York Fashion Week, the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, FL, and the Telfair Museum in Savannah, GA, among other curated exhibitions throughout the US and abroad. Nicole Shannon’s work is also featured in permanent collections at Clemson University’s Center for Human Genetics, the University of Chicago’s Department of Human Genetics, Boston Children’s Hospital, the Greenwood Genetic Center, and The Medical University of South Carolina. She studied art and design at SUNY New Paltz and the Savannah College of Art and Design.
