Artist Statement

With the recent passing of Baba (my dad) and Pope Francis, a couple of days apart, my thoughts drifted to a powerful memory: visiting the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo’s frescoes ran in my mind, their depictions of separation, the interplay of light and darkness, creation, sacrifice, natural calamities, and the timeless sagas of birth, life, death, and journey cycling through my consciousness. The striking orange-reds, luminous yellows, and serene blues of his paintings, unfolded a deep connection to my own evolving path. I am filled with awe at the magnificence of creation itself, and the constant shedding of old for new. From the grandeur of the Sistine Chapel, my focus gently shifted to my reality, my love for nature and even how they are entangled in the waves of renewal, realizing how intricately woven we are into this natural form of human existence. Life is a journey, some aspects difficult, some effortless, and many falling in between. Does true liberation come when we embrace and appreciate the inherent beauty in this journey? Will we ever know?

Artist Biography

I was born in Mumbai, India, and moved to Dubai when I was three. Growing up in Dubai was like living in a vibrant melting pot of cultures, ideas, and traditions. Those experiences shaped the way I see the world. After school, I moved back to India to pursue a BFA in Design and Visual Communication, which is where my love for branding and design really took off. My career started with airbrushing bold, colorful ads for magazines — each project felt like an exciting challenge, pushing me to grow creatively. Art School was like home for me, I loved learning about the science of visual communication. I moved back to Dubai, where I joined a British design house that helped me apply and grow my design and branding skills. A few years later, life led me to New Jersey, and I started working in New York City. Fast forward a bit, and I decided to take the leap and open my own design agency, something I have always dreamed of. Then came the pandemic, and everything shifted. With more time at home, I reconnected with something I had always loved — painting. Picking up a brush again brought me back to the pure joy of creation, reminding me of that excitement I felt when I first started this journey. I’m also passionate about teaching Yoga, Breathwork, and Meditation since 2013 — these practices bring me a sense of grounding and purpose. And when I’m outdoors, surrounded by nature, that’s when I truly feel alive and connected.
