Artist Statement
This artwork consists of two canvases that depict a spiral and its negative counterpart. Titled as a self-portrait, it challenges the idea that our human form, appearance, or identification number defines us. Beyond our genetic makeup, the piece conceptualizes us as an energy in constant evolution and transformation. The spirals within the composition symbolize transformation and duality, essential elements that coexist harmoniously. In this context, light gains significance in darkness, death is intertwined with birth, and the future is inseparable from the past.
