Artist Statement

My work explores themes of death, rebirth, and the fusion of opposites. I draw inspiration from the chthonic and mythological as reflections of human nature, rejecting the illusion that mortality can be ignored. To some degree, we all wear contorted masks to meet societal expectations, but by denying the mysteries of the inner and underworld, we sever ourselves from transformation and liberation.

Ancient Egypt’s seamless blending of life and death is a foundation for my art. Their rituals embraced mortality as a gateway, not an end—an ethos echoed in my reimagining of deities and symbols. I see death as a force of renewal, akin to Persephone’s ascent or Osiris’s resurrection, and invite viewers to reconsider their relationship with endings and beginnings.

By blending cultures and symbols, I seek to transcend boundaries and celebrate interconnectedness. My art merges the ancient and the contemporary—chaos and order to create a visual language that reflects our shared human experience. Through intricate patterns, hidden meanings, and ambiguous forms, I challenge preconceptions and invite reflection on life’s cyclical nature.

Ultimately, my work explores transformation—a reminder that death is not an end but a threshold. In the depths of the primal psyche, opposites unite, and ancient wisdom meets modern consciousness. Through this fusion, I hope to inspire dialogue and deeper contemplation of the mysteries that bind us all.
